It begins one summer, with an internship and a man Claire never saw coming.

When Claire moves to San Francisco at the age of twenty-two, she arrives with a broken heart and without a family. She steps into an intimidating office filled with Ivy League pedigrees doubting she’ll find common ground with anyone—least of all the company’s young, charismatic CEO: Luka. Quiet glances from across the office soon turn into leaving notes for one another and sneaking up to the rooftop to talk. Before she can put up walls, Luka slips past them. 

Then life shatters Claire’s plans. Tragedy strikes, pulling her back into the world she thought she’d left behind.

Two years pass. Claire’s life is derailed. Luka’s business takes off. Then out of nowhere, they meet again. But Claire is carrying a secret that she worries will make Luka reject her forever. Luka offers Claire the kind of life she never dared to imagine — luxury, adventure, and a place in his heart — but it feels too good to be true.

Claire has a decision to make; leave the past behind for a second chance with Luka or return to the life she once lived.
